Planetarium is a digital experience project that combines astronomical education with interactive design. The project focuses on creating an engaging interface that helps visitors explore the cosmos through modern digital tools.
Traditional planetarium experiences often lack interactivity and fail to engage modern audiences. Visitors need a more intuitive way to explore astronomical content and understand complex scientific concepts.
We designed an interactive digital experience that combines beautiful visualizations with intuitive navigation. The interface guides users through astronomical content while maintaining educational clarity and aesthetic appeal.

The Planetarium application is a mobile-friendly web experience accessible via QR codes placed across Strasbourg, especially in the city center and cultural venues. Users scroll through a narrative journey exploring the solar system—from the Sun to Venus, Earth, Moon, Jupiter, and beyond.
Journey from the Sun to distant planets. Each scroll reveals stunning visuals and fascinating astronomical facts.
An innovative feature we call 'The Aura' provides users with spatial guidance. It discreetly indicates the direction and distance to the planetarium based on the user's location. Functioning like a gyroscope, it moves around the screen edge as the user changes direction.
To enhance engagement, the app includes mini-games integrated into the journey. Users can tap on planets to trigger short games and earn badges. Collecting all badges could unlock a small discount voucher for the next planetarium visit.
Our observations and street interviews revealed critical visibility issues with the Strasbourg Planetarium.
This lack of visibility motivated us to create a project to help the planetarium reach a wider audience through interactive digital experiences integrated into the city's cultural and touristic spaces.
Project conceived and realized with Baptiste Fritz at the University of Strasbourg.
